A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Good questions.
Simple answers.

My Travel Map is coming to iPhone and iPad. Here’s what to expect from the first release.

Can I download the app yet?

The app is awaiting App Store approval and is not publicly available yet. The download link will appear on the app page after launch. The first release is planned to be free.

What can I mark on my map?

Countries and territories, the 50 US states plus Washington, DC, and a curated catalog of more than 7,000 cities and towns. You can mark a place visited or want to go. A visited city also marks its country, and its US state when applicable. Marking a country doesn’t mark every city inside it.

Can I hide cities on the map?

Tap Cities beside the map legend to show or hide city pins. The app remembers your choice on that device. Hiding pins keeps your saved visits, wishlist places, and notes. Apple’s background-map labels are separate.

Can a place be both visited and want to go?

A place has one current status. You can change it at any time. Repeated trips and trip timelines are outside the first release.

Do I need an account?

You can start with a map saved on your device. Sign in with Apple and use iCloud for syncing between devices and sharing with friends. Your device needs to be signed in to iCloud for those features.

What works without an internet connection?

You can browse the bundled place catalog, color countries and states, and edit your saved places and details. Sync catches up when you reconnect. Apple’s background street-map tiles may need the internet.

What will my friends see?

Your shared place statuses, in a read-only map. Private notes and dates are excluded. A link or code is an invitation that can be forwarded, so share it with care. You can revoke future access.

How do I open an invitation from a friend?

Tap their invitation link. If MyTravelMap is installed, the link opens the app. Otherwise, the invitation page has an install button. After installing, return to that page and tap Open invitation, or tap the original link again. Sign in with Apple when asked; the app remembers the invitation while you sign in. You can also enter a code on the invitation page or paste it into Friends in the app. App Store downloads become available after approval.

Is my map stored on Hostinger?

Your travel map stays on your device and in Apple’s iCloud when sync is enabled. Hostinger serves this website and the small account-deletion service. That service does not store travel data or maintain a user database.

How will I delete my account?

Open the account screen in the app and choose Delete Account, then confirm with Apple. The app removes its cloud and local account data and revokes its Apple authorization. If the connection fails, sync remains paused until you finish deletion. Exported backups and previously downloaded copies are not erased.

How can I get help?

Email fruggeri@me.com. Please include your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, the app version, and a short description of what happened. Do not send passwords, Apple verification codes, or private map backups unless you choose to share them.
